Will SmartBalls work for a 70 year old?

Question.

I am 70 years old and for the past ten years have been wearing pads because of a lack of control with my bladder. I would dearly like to stop wearing these and have just read about Smart balls on line. . What product would you recommend I get? What is the name of a good water based lubricant? As I have never worn any internal things like "tampax" because I never learnt how to do this and when I tried to it was most uncomfortable, will the lubricant take care of this problem?

Pelvic Floor Answers

If you have the time and can commit to doing more active exercise, I would recommend the Natratone over the SmartBalls.

They work more of the core as well as pelvic floor muscles and are very helpful for reconnecting and retraining the brain to recognise and activate your pelvic floor muscles in the correct sequence.
You would only insert the Natratoner in the vaginal entrance and practise a series of pelvic floor exercises, rather than wearing the ball internally for long periods of time.

You can put a little water on the Natratone to lubricate it- no lubricant required. The Natratone comes with an instructional DVD as well.
The minimum amount of time to get results is using it for 10 minutes a day, 3x per week for at least 6 weeks. Many women use it daily and for longer- at least 3 months.

There is not harm in ongoing use as strong pelvic floor muscles are a great thing and is an excellent way to banish the pads.
There is a good section about Natratone on Frequently asked questions - FAQs
