I find it really hard to know if in doing my pelvic floors right or wrong and always forget to do them. Would you recommend the Smart Balls or Natratone?
Question
Hi there, I have a 4 month old baby and have noticed my pelvic floor is weak especially when trying to exercise. I just found out I have been doing my pelvic floors wrong, I was squeezing out not pulling up. I find it really hard to know if in doing my pelvic floors right or wrong and always forget to do them. Would you recommend the balls or natratone? It sounds like the balls take less effort but are they as effective?
Thanks
Answer
Natratone does work a greater number of muscles strengthening both the core and pelvic floor muscles. They are very effective for helping you to recognise where your pelvic floor muscles are and how to activate them as you do the exercises with the Natratone device inserted and then without it. This enables you to actively engage your muscles as you need to.
Many women find Smart Balls are easier to integrate into your daily routine, the key is frequent use as they are part of a muscle training system.
We recommend starting with the single ball and either moving on to the double balls or if you have achieved what you need to, maintaining pelvic floor strength with the single ball.
Over time the Smart Balls tone and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles with very little effort from you apart from inserting and removing them.
If you can commit to 5 minutes of exercise twice a day, 3 times a week, then Natratone could be right for you. If this is outside what you can manage then we recommend Smart Balls.
